    DETROIT - Heavy rains pushed Lake Michigan up 2 inches in just one week.
    Lake Michigan is now 5 inches above the all-time record for May set in 1986, making it a certainty the lake will set a record for the fifth straight month.
    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' weekly report released Friday shows Lake Michigan is up 5 inches in the past month and now rests 8 inches higher than one year ago. It is forecasted to rise another 2 inches by June 22.

    Michigan coronavirus-related deaths now 5,158

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Michigan has recorded 29 more deaths linked to coronavirus for a statewide total of 5,158.
    According to data released Friday afternoon , 403 cases were confirmed Thursday, bringing the total to 53,913 since the outbreak began in March.
    In Wayne County, where the outbreak has been the worst, there have been 19,602 cases and 2,323 deaths. Oakland County has had 8,131 cases and 944 deaths. Macomb County has had 6,445 cases and 776 deaths.
